Bishop Larry Taylor

Bishop Larry Taylor is the Senior Pastor & visionary of Center For Hope Ministries, a multiracial, non-denomination church located in Bloomington, Illinois. Established in 2000, Center for Hope Ministries continues to impact the community through countless outreach programs, community-empowering events, and building projects. He is revered locally and internationally as a man of faith, integrity, leadership, and dynamic vision.

Bishop Taylor walks boldly as a modern day Joshua, called to empower God’s people to posses and establish ownership in the earth. After completing the first phase of the Center for Hope Campus, Bishop Taylor immediately began to develop financial strategies for Phase II, a state- of-the-art multi-purpose gymnasium, which will serve the youth and ministry outreach programs. In October 2008 Phase II opened to members, providing a balanced approached to life and helping meet both natural and spiritual needs. Other building projects include Hope Christian Academy, Rapha Counseling Center, the Ossie M. Taylor Clinic (honoring his late mother), and the Chosen Generation Child Development and Learning Center, which is slated to open in 2012.

A noted author, Bishop Taylor’s powerful and captivating messages are creatively captured in a series of audio formats, including The Eternal Word, Who’s the Slave?, Silence Unbelief, A Different Spirit, and A New Mindset: You Are Coming Out Head First. Most recently Bishop Taylor was a featured author for the ESV Urban Devotional Bible. He will release his first book in late 2011.

A native of Chicago, Bishop Taylor graduated from Illinois State University in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Economics. He worked in banking, management, and financial counseling for over 20 years. Bishop Taylor continues to work in the area of finances, empowering individuals from various economic backgrounds to break poverty cycles and to leave an inheritance for their children’s children. Programs facilitated by Bishop Taylor include Kingdom Finances, Credit Builder, and Money Management, which is facilitated through a community housing association in the McLean county area.

Through Bishop Taylor’s ministry, people are motivated to walk out their purpose. Because of God’s favor on his life, this humble servant is advancing God’s kingdom throughout this world—and he is redesigning the face of “church” as we see it.

Bishop Taylor is a visionary, counselor, teacher, and innovator, but most of all he is a devoted husband to his wife, First Lady Desetra Taylor (of 29 years) and a loving father to Rashod, Marcus, and Krystal.
